Professor Farhadi’s expertise is in all aspects of aesthetic and reconstructive breast surgery. He has a an extensive experience in reconstructive surgery after double mastectomy using own tissue or implants combined with a matrix. He is actively involved in research to improve longevity in breast reduction and breast lift procedures, like the internal bra technique. As a microsurgeon he performs almost 200 own tissue reconstruction per year. Furthermore he offers microsurgical treatment of chronic lymphedema of the arm by lymphnode transfer.
Professor Farhadi studied medicine at the University of Basel and at the University Pitié-Salpetrière in Paris before graduating from the Medical School of the University of Basel in Switzerland.
He went on to complete his specialist surgical training in Plastic Surgery in 2005, having studied in Basel, Bern and Yale University. This was followed by a Fellowship in microsurgical reconstruction at St.Thomas’ Hospital, where he was later appointed as a consultant and Director of the Department.
Professor Farhadi developed the Department of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery at St Thomas Hospital to a world renowned unit with 23 Consultant plastic surgeons.
He is listed on the GMC Specialist Register (6132241) and is a member of a number of national and international professional societies.
